Gull Lake is one of Royal's favorite lakes. He has been a fishing guide on the lake for over fifty years. Over the years, Royal has guided thousands of families and groups on Gull Lake. Royal likes Gull Lake because walleye, bass, crappie, and northern pike are all present in the lake.

Gull Lake Fishing Trips

Gull Lake is a 9,418 acre lake which is roughly 9.5 miles long. The lake is long and narrow with several larger bays. Gull Lake is located six miles north of Brainerd. It is part of the Gull Lake Reservoir chain of lakes. The lake has a maximum depth of 80 feet but about 30% of Gull Lake is shallower than 15 feet. Water clarity is excellent. It is an extremely popular lake for both Brainerd fishing guides and other water-based recreational activities. The key to catching fish is action. Royal will move to other lakes if the bass fishing on Gull Lake slows. Bass are plentiful in many other Brainerd, Nisswa, and Garrison area lakes. Royal will fish about 30 other bass lakes in our area. His idea of a great guided fishing trip is for everyone to catch fish!

Gull Lake Bass Fishing

Gull lake is one of the most popular fishing lakes in Minnesota. The lake has an excellent bass population. Royal, like most Brainerd fishing guides, is always seeking the next hot bite when fishing with clients. Gull Lake's vast size and its multiple fish species almost guarantee clients will catch fish. This makes Gull Lake popular with Brainerd fishing guides and anglers alike. Largemouth bass are the target on many of Royal's guided fishing trips are on Gull Lake. The bass fishing on Gull Lake is excellent from mid-June to mid-September.
